Fossils WEBQUEST

Students, go to these websites and copy and answer the questions that follow for each one. First copy the questions down, then look for the answers on the websites. Some are games, some are informational:

including what they are and the types of fossils that exist. Click on the first box that says "I Gotta Question"
Then answer the questions after playing these games and animations:
Questions:
1) What are fossils? Describe in detail. 
2) How are fossils made? Describe the environmental conditions that are necessary to form fossils.
3) Where do you find fossils?

Questions:
1) What is the difference between a mold and cast fossil? Explain.
2) Who are paleontologists and what are the 3 main things they try to figure out about fossils?                                                                                                                              
3) How do paleontologists figure out a fossil's age?

3) Getting into the Fossil Record 
Questions:
1) List 2 questions the fossil record can help us answer.
2) What are 3 types of fossils? Draw one type and label what type it is.
3) How can decomposers affect fossil formation?

Scroll down and watch at least 2 videos from this site. Write 1 new fact you learned for each video. Use this website to also view any videos on Fossils that will help you answer the questions above.


5) Draw a picture of a fossil and label it. Explain what type of fossil it is.
